At Oberjoch Kennels we take the time to ease your dog in to the experience of grooming and work with them to make them more comfortable being handled. Proper behavior can be achieved through training and consistency. A dog who comes here regularly for grooming soon gets to be an old friend. They are called by name and we cater to their personalities and habits so they enjoy their day at the grooming salon.

It is important to ensure your dog is on a regular grooming schedule to ensure a healthy skin and coat. The time recommended in-between grooms varies from 2 weeks up to 12 weeks depending on the breed, coat type and preferred style of your dog. Individual breed pricing varies and depends primarily on the time it takes to groom your dog. Basic pricing starts at $26.00/hour and up. Other factors we consider when pricing your dog’s groom include: if more than 1 groomer is required (either due to sheer size or behavior), any extra-ordinary efforts required to complete the groom (aggressive or extra happy dogs), condition of the coat (matted or extra thick packing) and the complexity of the requested trim.

Full Grooms:

A full groom includes a bath, blow dry, brush out, clipping and/or scissor styling, undercoat removal, hygiene trim, ear cleaning and nail clipping.

Mini/Maintenance grooms (tidy grooms):

A mini groom is priced at $10.00 less than your individual dogs full groom price (must be on a regular schedule). It includes a bath, blow dry, thorough brushing, ear clean, nail trim, scissoring of the face, pads and around the feet and hygiene trim. A mini groom is recommended in between full grooms especially for breeds with high maintenance coats (Cockers, Poodles, Doodles) to ensure their coats are kept healthy and matt free and if you’d like just to keep your dog smelling fresh and looking tidy in between full grooms. Please note that mini grooms do not include clipping of the coat and are not available for de-shed/undercoat removal.
